The exposed brick backdrop of Nuffield City's subterranean cycle studio lent itself perfectly to our innovative LED lighting.

Nuffield City is one of the most innovative and exciting spin-cycle studios in the UK. It consists of around 200m of our X-Ribbon Digital 60, X-Ribbon RGBW LED tapes and the world famous MADRIX control software.

The whole project was designed and supplied by Hutchison-T. They specified our analogue X-Ribbon RGB strips which illuminates walkways and seating for over 65 bikes. Over 50m of short horizontal X-Ribbon Digital 60 strips were mounted into acoustic baffles around the perimeter of the studio to extinguish excess sounds in the room while engaging riders’ peripheral vision to create a tangible sense of onward movement. Overhead, 150m of the X-Ribbon Digital 60 strips were suspended centrally along the length of the arched ceiling, creating the sensation of forward momentum and drawing the eye towards the focal point of the studio: a 4m wide HD projection image framed by a Victorian railway arch.

MADRIX is key in this project to creating the intelligent ability to make riders feel surrounded by movement and motivation. Accessed via a simple iPad, it is a highly intuitive way for instructors to customise their own spin classes using a profusion of high-impact lighting techniques. Alternatively, the design of the MADRIX system enables lighting sequences to be pre-programmed or even updated remotely by specialists at Hutchison-T.
